This baby blue 1960s Mod style dress is by the New York designer Geoffrey Beene; celebrated for his craftsmanship, attention to detail and relaxed wearable designs. This classic 1960s piece marries two design elements in the tunic-like appearance of the dress together with an A-Line shaped cut. The rounded hem finishes below the knee and the fabric is a fine quality heavy linen/silk blend. The dress is lined throughout in colour-matching silk organza. There are two rows of vertical ornamental button fastenings which follow the A-line seam downwards with corresponding buttons on each of the cuffs of the long sleeves. The dress has a slightly stiffened high neck collar which fastens with hook and eyes and a long central zip at the reverse. This timeless piece is of exceptional quality and in superb vintage condition with no faults of any note. The craftsmanship of this dress is couture standard and proudly has both the 1960s Beene label and the Union Made label on the inside of the dress. Would fit up to a size US size 8, UK size 12.
